the European Union. #L#
Tomcic was unable to assess the pace of the adjustment process, but
added expected the laws regarding the EU to be forwarded to
parliament this week and during the 33rd session.
The 33rd session was called for June 11 and will last until July 15,
when the constitutional deadline for the regular parliamentary
sitting expires.
Tomcic commented with restraint on a reporter's question about
information that the U.S. President said his country would freeze
the property of some 150 people, including Croatian MP Ljubo Cesic
Rojs.
"I don't know what the MP is charged with and why the U.S is
threatening to impose such a sanction. Upon receiving more
information I will be able to comment on that," Tomcic said.
The parliament head, however, said he was not too pleased about this
and that he was not familiar with the system by which the U.S.
president freeze the property of an individual from any country.
Commenting on a daily's headline that the Siemens company was not
chosen to install the electronic voting system in parliament in
line with the law and that Tomcic personally was involved, the
parliament head said this was "nonsense".
