ZAGREB, May 27 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament President Zlatko Tomcic on Tuesday met Israeli Ambassador David Granit, with whom he discussed bilateral relations and the situation in the Middle East, Tomcic's office stated.

The two officials expressed hope that the decision of the Israeli
government to accept the peace plan was a good foundation for
building a lasting peace and stability in that part of the world.
Granit said that all countries had to invest more efforts in
fighting terrorism in terms of budgetary funds, concrete measures
and human resources.
The two officials expressed satisfaction with the exceptionally
good political relations and the intensifying of economic
cooperation between their countries.
Granit reiterated his invitation for Tomcic to pay an official
visit to Israel this year.
