According to a press release issued by Mesic's office, the two
interlocutors said that political relations between Zagreb and
Oslo were very good and there was a good basis for the promotion of
bilateral economic cooperation, particularly in tourism.
Norway, as a one of the founders of NATO, supports Croatia on its
path towards this organisation, the press release reads.
According to the Norwegian minister, transatlantic relations are
especially important in light of the post-war reconstruction of
Iraq.
Although it is not a member of the European Union, Norway advocates
its enlargement and is willing to help countries that aspire to EU
membership to enter the Union, the press release added.
President Mesic thanked Norway for substantial assistance it had
offered in projects of reconstruction and refugee returns to
Croatian war-hit areas.
