Pavic, CEO of Croatia's Europa Press Holding, which WAZ co-owns. The delegation was later received by Prime Minister Ivica Racan.
ZAGREB, May 23 (Hina) - Croatian parliament president Zlatko Tomcic
on Friday received a delegation of Germany's Westdeutsche
Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ) media concern, headed by Erich Schumann, a
management board member, and Ninoslav Pavic, CEO of Croatia's
Europa Press Holding, which WAZ co-owns. The delegation was later
received by Prime Minister Ivica Racan. #L#
Schumann said WAZ was spreading on press markets in South Eastern
Europe and was active on eight media markets in Europe, read a
statement from Tomcic's office.
Schumann added that WAZ had been advocating a pro-European policy
and common European values from the start and was, therefore,
following and supporting a democratic and European Croatia, which
set joining the European Union as one of its basic objectives.
The talks with PM Racan addressed Croatia's efforts and
achievements in the accelerated drawing closer to the EU and the
further democratisation of society.
