Vlahusic said the state budget this year earmarked almost 700
million (EUR93.3 mln) kuna for health, as opposed to 604 mln last
year and between 120 and 200 mln up to 2000.
The minister said this year's amount indicated that health was very
important as a project to bring Croatia closer to the European
Union. He pointed to the importance of providing facilities with
adequate equipment and following new technologies.
Vlahusic hoped the fair would open new prospects for Croatian
health institutions and benefit all citizens.
Over four days, 450 exhibitors, of whom more than half from 25
foreign countries, will display their health products, services,
and projects.
Citizens attending the fair will be able to undergo free general and
specialised medical examinations and get expert advice concerning
health.
