Racan and the head of the delegation, the HUP executive board's
chairman, Ivica Mudrinic, discussed the current economic and
political issues and considered possibilities for the enhancement
of the Croatian economy's competition and a better climate for
entrepreneurs, read a press release issued by the government.
Mudrinic commended the Ivica Racan Cabinet for significant results
it had achieved in past three and a half years, and he in particular
emphasised the macroeconomic stability and the restoration of
faith in the state authorities as a partner.
This government will receive better grades after some lapse of
time, Premier Racan said and added that it was indisputable that
some important development projects had been launched which would
later bring some results. In addition, the country has accelerated
its pace towards the European Union, the PM said.
Although faced with difficult conditions, this government is
trying to be a good social partner both to employers and trade
unions, the premier said.
Bids to adjust to EU standards will bring some effects to all three
social partners, Racan added.
