Tonight the chiefs of diplomacy had an informal meeting at the
residence of CoE Secretary-General Walter Schwimmer to discuss the
post-war reconstruction of Iraq and its implications for the
international community.
Croatia will support an initiative for the holding of a third CoE
summit in 2004 or 2005, the country's delegation has announced. At
the conference, Picula will outline Croatia's positions on CoE's
role in the Europe of the future and on the reform of the European
Human Rights Court, which it will endorse in principle.
The participants in the conference will also address CoE activities
in the fight against trafficking in humans, the promotion of the
free movement of people in enlarged Europe, and anti-terrorism.
The conference will be chaired by Malta's Foreign Minister Joseph
Borg.
