visited Vukovar-Srijem County to assess the extent of damage caused
by a drought due to which a half of Croatian counties have been

Asked by reporters how the government intends to help farmers in
drought-stricken areas, Racan said one would have to undertake
measures which could solve the problem in the long term.
Accompanied by county officials, the government delegation visited
two family farms.
The agriculture ministry yesterday estimated damage caused by the
drought so far at some 1.4 billion kuna (EUR132 million).
