Even though this was a private meeting, after Mesic held official
talks with Slovenia's current President Janez Drnovsek local
reporters asked Mesic what advice he had for Kucan before he
testified in The Hague against former Yugoslav President Slobodan
Milosevic and how Kucan could contribute to that trial.
"I gave my testimony. The main culprit for all that happened is
Milosevic and his regime. Milan Kucan, too, certainly knows what
happened and could give his view of what was done by those who
supported the option of war," Mesic said to reporters from
Slovenia's STA news agency.
