"Parliament faces a difficult task and it is not necessary to waste
time, which could be used for adjusting Croatian legislation to EU
demands, on unnecessary political discussions," Racan said.
Unofficial sources in parliament said on Monday that due to a large
scope of the parliament's activities, two extraordinary sessions
could be held, in July and August.
Tonight's session of the SDP presidency which was closed to the
public focused on the pace of the law adoption process regarding
Croatia's joining the EU.
According to sources in the SDP, should elections be held in
November, parliament would be dissolved in October and the
government could propose the adoption of the 2004 state budget
which would be adopted after the election.
