"Seven citizens of Serbia and Montenegro tried to enter Croatia via
the Bajakovo border crossing on Sunday, but the Croatian border
police did not allow them to cross the border because they did not
hold visas," Bardic told Hina.
A representatives of the Romany from Serbia, Dragoljub Ackovic,
told Belgrade's Radio B92 Sunday that the Croatian border police
stopped them with an explanation that the Croatian Interior
Ministry had not been informed of their arrival. Ackovic claims
that a list of their names had been sent to competent bodies in
Croatia on time.
"I don't know whom the list has been sent to, but the Interior
Ministry was not informed of their arrival," Bardic said and
explained that this was why visas were not issued to the
delegation.
The delegation from Serbia planned to attend a commemorative
service held on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of inmates'
break-out from the Ustasha-run Jasenovac concentration camp, when
1,100 prisoners were killed and only about a hundred detainees
managed to survive.
