ZAGREB, May 9 (Hina) - The number of those on the dole in April fell by three percent (or by 10,514) to 345,294 as against March which saw 355,808 registered unemployed persons, according to the national Employment Office.

A considerable fall in the number of jobless Croatians in April has
been ascribed by the Employment Office's head, Sanja Crnkovic
Pozaic, to the intensified creation of jobs before the peak of the
tourist summer season.
Crnkovic Pozaic told a news conference on Friday that the number of
the registered unemployed person this April fell by 15.3 percent
(or by 62,448 persons less) in comparison to April 2002.
A trend of a decrease in the unemployment is going on.
