Josipovic's talks with Spindelegger and Dzurinda focused on meeting benchmarks for the Judiciary and Fundamental Rights policy area.
Josipovic said that the progress Croatia had made in this area was a sign of the stability of the process of reforms and of its irreversibility.
Spindelegger and Dzurinda said that Croatia had made great headway in meeting benchmarks in the accession process and added that Croatia's entry into the European Union would send an important signal to other countries in the region regarding their EU prospects and contribute to the strengthening of peace and security.
According to the statement, Josipovic thanked Austria and Slovakia for their positive assessments of Croatia's efforts and their support to Zagreb in the final steps towards the EU membership.
He expressed confidence that other EU member-states too would recognise Croatia's efforts in this regard.
During their stay in Zagreb, the Austrian and Slovak officials also met Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and their Croatian counterpart Gordan Jandrokovic.
