ZAGREB, April 24 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan on Thursday signed the appointment of Franjo Turek as the head of the Counter-Intelligence Agency and Damir Loncaric as the head of the Intelligence Agency, state
television said in the central evening newscast.

Counter-Intelligence Agency and Damir Loncaric as the head of the
Intelligence Agency, state television said in the central evening

Turek and Loncaric were acting directors in these agencies since
2000.
The PM said he would ask the two to contribute towards the fight
against organised crime and corruption and the resolving of war
crimes, Croatian Television reported.
The chairman of parliament's committee for interior affairs and
national security told Hina today the committee still had not
officially received the decision on the appointments and that it
would certainly not meet this week.
According to procedure, proposals on the appointments are be
forwarded to said Sabor committee for a formal opinion.
