on Thursday the criticism Deputy PM Goran Granic levelled at some
diplomats accredited in Croatia was not the government's stand and
expressed regret it was made. #L#
"That is not the position of the government and I personally regret
it was made," Racan told journalists.
He said cabinet ministers were entitled to voice their opinions
which need not and were not always the opinion of the government,
and that this was a constituent part of democracy.
In an interview with Novi list daily of Tuesday, Granic said some
foreign diplomats in Zagreb had demonstrated they were immature for
their jobs and described their statements as ridiculous and
tragic.
Racan believes Granic's statement should not elicit negative
reactions in the international community and have repercussions on
Croatia.
"Apologising and expressing regret should be enough for
representatives of the international community," said the PM.
