CROATIA DEPUTY PM MEETS INT'L ANTI-DRUGS OFFICIALS IN VIENNA

VIENNA VIENNA, April 16 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Ante Simonic on Wednesday took part in the 46th session of the U.N. Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna, during which he talked with Antonio Maria Costa, the director of U.N.'s Vienna office and executive director of the U.N. Office for Drugs and Crime.
VIENNA, April 16 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Ante Simonic on Wednesday took part in the 46th session of the U.N. Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna, during which he talked with Antonio Maria Costa, the director of U.N.'s Vienna office and executive director of the U.N. Office for Drugs and Crime. #L# Simonic told reporters the talks addressed the prevention, smuggling and abuse of illegal drugs, and Croatia's relations with Slovenia and other Western Europe countries in light of the Schengen border. Simonic said he suggested making Croatia one of the regional centres of logistic support in the struggle against addiction, organised crime, and trafficking in drugs and arms. Costa applauded the proposal and accepted an invitation to visit Croatia, he added. Simonic also held talks with Slovenia's Health Minister Dusan Keber and the director of the Slovene government's office for the fight against drugs, Milan Krek.
