"It is obvious that we are dealing with the same circle of people who
took part in war crimes but were amnestied due to their alleged
merits and allowed to develop a network of drugs and arms
smugglers," Svilanovic told reporters during a break at a session
of the Serbian Civil Alliance's branch in Belgrade, which he
heads.
Indictees of the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague who are
available to the Serbian and Montenegrin authorities should be
"arrested and given a fair trial before The Hague-based tribunal",
the minister said. Svilanovic could not say how many indictments
were yet to arrive in Serbia and Montenegro from The Hague, adding
the authorities expected "several, rather than dozens or hundreds
of indictments".
