HGK Zagreb president Zlatan Froelich said Croatia and Bulgaria
could develop cooperation in industry, transport, tourism,
communal and infrastructure projects and small and medium-sized
businesses.
Trade between the two countries in the past several years has been
on a mild increase, totalling 27 billion US dollars in 2002, of
which Croatian exports accounted for 12 million dollars. The scope
of trade is not satisfactory and both countries should make efforts
to expand it, Froelich said.
Sofia mayor Stefan Sofianski, who headed the Bulgarian delegation,
said the purpose of the visit was to investigate possibilities of
cooperation between Zagreb and Sofia in infrastructure projects
(public transportation, water supply, waste management).
The Bulgarian delegation included representatives of one
construction and three transport companies from the Bulgarian
capital.
