"We are treated as a possible country-candidate, the only which
could alongside Rumania and Bulgaria fulfil conditions for the next
enlargement of the EU (in 2007)," said Tomac at the committee
session.
Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Simonovic, who attended the committee
session, agreed with Tomac about reaching a consensus in
determining priority aims of Croatia's foreign policy in the next
year.
It is also necessary to provide guarantees that notwithstanding the
result of elections, Croatia will carry out the same policy, Tomac
said.
