The arrests were made in a police operation which is part of an
investigation into the assassination of Serbian Premier Zoran
Djindjic. Police sources said that before Djindjic was
assassinated, Bulatovic had held meetings with the principal
suspect in Djindjic's assassination, Milorad Lukovic Legija, a
runaway former commander of a unit for special operations, the so-
called Red Berets, as well as with another suspect, Dusan
Spasojevic Siptar, who was killed in a police operation last week.
According to police information, Aleksandar Tomic, who was
recently replaced as head of Serbia and Montenegro's military
intelligence, lied in his first statement to the police and has been
brought in for questioning again, but it is unclear if he has been
remanded in custody.
In a statement he sent to the media on Tuesday Bulatovic said he
would sue, before domestic or international courts, the media which
reported that former Croatian rebel Serb leader Borislav Mikelic
had arranged a meeting between him and Tomic and the leaders of the
"Zemun Mobster Clan".
