ZAGREB, April 5 (Hina) - Mate Granic and Vesna Skare-Ozbolt were re-elected president and vice-president of the Democratic Centre (DC) at the party's second electoral convention in Zagreb on Saturday.

elected president and vice-president of the Democratic Centre (DC)
at the party's second electoral convention in Zagreb on Saturday.

Thanking party deputies for their confidence on behalf of the
elected leadership and his own behalf, Granic promised the party
would be successful in the next parliamentary election.
Josko Moric, Pavao Miljavac, Slobodan Lang and Radoslav Galic were
elected party vice-presidents, while Doris Kosta, Miroslav Simic,
Vesna Girardi-Jurkic, Nikola Obuljen and Mate Brletic were elected
members of the party presidency.
The deputies also adopted a political declaration entitled
"Croatia - A Developed European Country", which defines the DC's
strategic goals. The DC will advocate Croatia as a developed, law-
based state, an equal and respected member of the international
community, a welfare state, a country of educated people and rich
culture, with advanced agriculture and clean environment.
The deputies also adopted a new statute which gives the DC's main
committee much wider powers.
