which he refused their request to postpone the announced transfer of powers from the U.N. administration in Kosovo to the Kosovo institutions.
BELGRADE, April 4 (Hina) - The U.N.'s civil administrator in
Kosovo, Michael Steiner, on Friday held a meeting with Serbian
Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic and the vice-premier in charge of
Kosovo, Nebojsa Covic, at which he refused their request to
postpone the announced transfer of powers from the U.N.
administration in Kosovo to the Kosovo institutions. #L#
Steiner told reporters that the aim of transferring some of the
authorities was not the definition of Kosovo's final status.
Priorities in Kosovo are the return of refugees, the creation of a
multiethnic society, the struggle against organised crime and
economic development, said Steiner.
