PRISTINA, March 31 (Hina) - Kosovo Serbs announced Monday they would stage protests against the UNMIK's intention of transferring a part of its authorities onto Kosovo institutions, claiming that would be a step towards Kosovo's
secession from Serbia.

A Kosovo Serb leader and MP in the Kosovo parliament, Oliver
Ivanovic, warned that tensions in Kosovo would rise if the UNMIK
carried out its authority transfer plan.
Serb representatives announced for Thursday a protest against "the
attempt of the UN civilian administrator to Kosovo, Michael
Steiner, to create an independent Albanian state".
