Those 600 victims, who have to date been identified, will be buried
in the memorial centre at Potocari outside the town of Srebrenica,
eastern Bosnia.
They are just a part of 8,000 Muslims killed by Bosnian Serb forces
in July 1995 when they overrun the area of Srebrenica, which was at
the time a UN safe haven.
Recently another mass grave with victims of the Srebrenica tragedy
was unearthed near the eastern town of Zvornik.
Several Serb officers are being tried by the UN war crimes tribunal
in The Hague, because of their involvement in the Srebrenica
massacre. The chief culprit, Ratko Mladic, who commanded
operations of occupying of the then Muslim enclave is still on the
run.
