MPs of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) believe that the
necessary laws for implementing the reform have not yet been
passed. They criticised the report for not providing an objective
review of various scandals in the health system and the illegal
spending of funds intended for the reform.
The Social Liberals (HSLS) were concerned about the situation in
prevention in health care.
Health Minister Andro Vlahusic spoke to MPs about the application
of various measures aimed at improving the situation in this
sector.
MPs of the Social Democrats (SDP) said that in the past two years,
more funds had been invested into the health system than in the
previous ten years.
Damir Kajin of the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) believes that
the incumbent government has done much to improve the situation,
such as solving insolvency and improving the financial situation of
general hospitals and clinics.
"The situation today is incomparably better than before January 3,
2000, and the government must be given credit for that. The
difference is enormous," he said.
