The talks focused on a request for the payment of damages to
survived prisoners and victims, which the association had
forwarded to Italy, and which the Italian finance ministry refused,
Mesic's office said in a statement.
More than 25,000 civilians had been sent to the camp on the Croatian
island of Molat, which was at the time occupied by Italian forces.
Only a small number of them survived.
