ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - Croatia will support the war in Iraq only if the United States and its allies receive the green light from the UN Security Council, Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula said in a statement to the U.S.
Ambassador to Croatia, Lawrence Rossin, Croatian Television reported Friday night.

UN Security Council, Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula said
in a statement to the U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, Lawrence Rossin,
Croatian Television reported Friday night. #L#
According to the HTV flagship news broadcast, Picula this morning
explained to Rossin Croatia's views agreed on at yesterday's
meeting of top Croatian officials.
The television said that the U.S. Administration had two days ago
sent a note to the Croatian government requesting an explanation
about the current stand of Zagreb.
The government said in a statement tonight that regarding Iraq,
consultations were underway and that it could not make its details
public, based on agreements with partners.
The government will not abandon its well-known stands about the
Iraqi crisis and advocates the full implementation of stances of
the Security Council on Iraq, said the government.
