LJUBLJANA, March 10 (Hina) - Former Slovene President Milan Kucan has stated he might testify against Slobodan Milosevic before the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague. His testimony would focus only on events prior to the
disintegration of the former Yugoslavia, not about genocide or the violation of human rights for which Milosevic was indicted, since the information he has could be defined as hearsay.

"It is well-known why the tribunal was established and for what
Milosevic has been indicted -- genocide and grave violations
against humanity. As a witness, I can, of course, only testify about
events prior to the tragic and ruthless events which led to crimes,
genocide and other acts for which the tribunal establishes
liability," Kucan told Slovene Radio on Monday.
Last week Kucan held the second round of talks with representatives
of the tribunal's prosecution regarding his possible testimony
against Milosevic.
