The unionists, who held a meeting on Friday, asked the Croatian
government to make all the necessary decisions so as to confirm the
sales contract and make it possible for the Russians to take over
the ironworks and carry out preparations for the start of
production.
On Thursday they voiced bitterness over the government's decision
to postpone confirming the said contract until its next session.
Today, union leaders Ivica Kenda and Mato Somic, again expressed
bitterness over delays and wondered who would compensate for lost
time.
They also asked the Ivica Racan Cabinet to ensure and pay salaries
for March, as the government last month decided to provide for the
ironworks and its employees until the arrival of the Russian
partner.
