At the moment, HEP is satisfied with the fact that after virtually
five years, the company will be allowed to realise its ownership
status in the Krsko power plant, that is, to once again take control
of this plant.
Slovenia's parliament ratified the bilateral agreement on the
regulation of status and other rights relating to investment, use
and dismantling of the Krsko power plant. The deal was ratified by
the Croatian Sabor on July 3, 2002.
HEP reminded that in order for the agreement to come into force, it
was necessary for Slovenia to inform Croatia through diplomatic
channels of the ratification of the agreement.
Once the Croatian government announces that it has received a
diplomatic note, HEP will begin preparations for implementing a
contract concerning the power plant.
The bilateral agreement on the power plant was signed in Krsko on
December 19, 2001 at the ministerial level. The same day, the HEP
CEO, Ivo Covic, and the director of Slovenia's ELES, Vekoslav
Korosec, signed the above-mentioned contract that operationalised
the model for managing jointly the power plant.
