Silobrcic informed Parliament President Zlatko Tomcic of his
irreversible resignation, because the parliament head appointed
him to the HRT Council in May 2001. Silobrcic chaired the body since
October of the same year.
Silobrcic believes that the new law on HRT, which becomes effective
next week, foresees a new way of electing members to the council
according to which party policy directly participates in the
election.
He is confident that this is "a step back" and he disagrees with it.
