Pursuant to charges pressed against them, Stojan Pavlovic, as the
first suspect, and Djuro Urukalo, Stanko Berberovic and Milan Saric
were nabbed in their places of residence in Baranja on Wednesday and
taken to the Osijek County Court's investigation centre.
Another four suspects accused of the same crimes -- Bosko Strajnic,
Dragisa Vucemilovic, Svetomir Milanovic and Josip Stankovic -- are
at large at the moment and warrants for their arrest have been
issued, the investigating judge Dragan Simenic said.
All eight suspects were members of Serb paramilitary units and
their indictment alleges that they committed war crimes against the
non-Serb population in the town of Popovac and nearby villages
during 1991, 1992 and 1995.
