The general said he knew nothing about the abduction of people from
Gospic.
Asked by Hrast whether anybody had been supposed to inform him about
civilians being imprisoned in military barracks in Perusic, since
he was the CO of the 118th Gospic Brigade at the time, Norac said the
commanders of some lower units had acted independently, but that he
did not want to badmouth his brigade commanders.
Norac, along with four other indictees, is charged with organising
and ordering the abduction and liquidation of some 40 civilians of
mostly Serb nationality in the Gospic area in autumn 1991.
The trial resumes on Monday.
