ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - The Hague-based U.N. war crimes tribunal will on March 24 announce verdicts in the trial of a former commander of the Convicts' Battalion, Mladen Naletilic a.k.a. Tuta, and a commander of one of the battalion's
units, Vinko Martinovic a.k.a. Stela, Martinovic's attorney Branko Seric said in Zagreb on Friday.
ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - The Hague-based U.N. war crimes tribunal
will on March 24 announce verdicts in the trial of a former
commander of the Convicts' Battalion, Mladen Naletilic a.k.a.
Tuta, and a commander of one of the battalion's units, Vinko
Martinovic a.k.a. Stela, Martinovic's attorney Branko Seric said
in Zagreb on Friday. #L#
Prosecutors for the tribunal demanded prison sentences of 35 and 25
years for Naletilic and Martinovic. The two Bosnian Croats were
charged with command and personal responsibility for crimes
against humanity, grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and
violations of the law and customs of war, committed in the areas of
Mostar and Jablanica in 1993.
The trial of Naletilic and Martinovic started in September 2001.
