BRUSSELS, Feb 24 (Hina) - The European Union (EU) on Monday called on five Southeast European countries, covered by the Stabilisation and Association Process, to be actively engaged in the return of refugees and displaced
persons.

on five Southeast European countries, covered by the Stabilisation
and Association Process, to be actively engaged in the return of
refugees and displaced persons. #L#
The EU said the headway which should be made in this field would
facilitate the countries' association with the Union.
The EU will continue assisting in the countries' efforts in that
field and they should realise that progress in the return process
would contribute to their bids to join the Union, according to
conclusions which the EU Council of Ministers adopted concerning
the western Balkans.
There are over one million people outside their homes in the
countries established after the disintegration of the former
Yugoslavia (SFRY).
EU foreign ministers recall that the return to home is the
fundamental right of all refugees and displaced persons.
