After Health Minister Andro Vlahusic on Tuesday invited doctors'
associations to the meeting, HLS president Ivica Babic said the
union was ready to negotiate, however, he could not attend the
meeting since the government's decision ordering doctors back to
work was in force.
A second ministry note, sent to explain that union representatives
would not violate the government's decision by attending the
meeting as it was considered a regular activity, was not replied to,
Vlahusic told reporters.
After four weeks of the doctors' strike, the government on February
13 ordered doctors back to work, expressing readiness to continue
dialogue with doctors' associations and solve problems in the
health sector.
