Doctors' Union (HLS) decided on Wednesday to continue a doctors'
strike in the same extent, while the HLS requested that parliament
discuss the situation. #L#
"Considering the failure of negotiations with the government, we
believe it necessary that the parliament discuss the entire
situation, in which we are prepared to actively participate," said
the HLS president, Ivica Babic, after the committee session.
If the government at tomorrow's session introduces a working
commitment to doctors or seeks a court ban on the strike, which it is
expected to do, the HLS will accept the decision, but will try to
protect its rights with all legitimate means, said Babic.
This means that protection will be sought from Croatian courts,
followed by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, as
well as with the European federation of doctors' unions.
