Haradin Bala, Isak Musliu and Agim Murtezi were transferred to the
detention centre after they were arrested in Kosovo a day before by
the international peace keepers (KFOR).
The three men together with Fatmir Limaj, who is on the run, are
charged with abuse and killing of prisoners -- Serb and Albanian
civilians -- kept in the Lapusnik jail near Glogovac, in 1998. Their
indictment was unsealed on Tuesday.
According to her statement published in Podgorica, ICTY Chief
Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte expressed concern over the fact that
Limaj had been allowed to leave Kosovo two and a half weeks after
KFOR had received a warrant for his arrest.
Limaj, a former commander in the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVK), was
responsible for the management of the Lepusnik camp. Last Friday he
left Kosovo on a regular flight for a business trip and thus avoided
his apprehension.
The three nabbed men were in command of guards in the camp.
