BELGRADE, Feb 5 (Hina) - Europe expects Belgrade to make a commitment to resolve the problem of Ratko Mladic and other indictees accused by the UN war crimes tribunal, and urges it to stop dragging its leg in efforts aimed at settling
the case, the British Ambassador in Belgrade, Charles Crawford, said on Wednesday.
BELGRADE, Feb 5 (Hina) - Europe expects Belgrade to make a
commitment to resolve the problem of Ratko Mladic and other
indictees accused by the UN war crimes tribunal, and urges it to
stop dragging its leg in efforts aimed at settling the case, the
British Ambassador in Belgrade, Charles Crawford, said on

He added that it was encouraging that the federal authorities had
allowed 36 people to testify before the International Criminal
Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
Crawford said the international community would like to see a clear
signal from Belgrade that it would be willing to arrest the war
criminals wanted by the ICTY, and he warned that the apprehension of
Mladic, war-time Bosnian Serb commander, and some other indictees,
had been delayed for seven years.
Asked by a local Belgrade radio how London would vote in the
procedure of admission of the state union of Serbia/Montenegro into
the Council of Europe, the British ambassador declined to give a
precise answer.
