A hearing on extradition and custody before Judge Claudia Lechner is scheduled for 9 May, Salzburg provincial court press spokesman Imre Juhasz was quoted by the APA as saying.
Juhasz added that Judge Lechner was waiting for documents requested from the Croatian government. In the event of the delivery of documents before 9 May, a ruling on his extradition to Croatia might be rendered on that day, the spokesman said.
At the previous hearing on 8 March, Sanader expressed disagreement with his possible transfer back to Croatia where he is wanted for white-collar crimes. On that occasion his detention was extended for another two months.
Sanader insists on being tried before Austrian courts. Lawyer Werner Suppan who represents him in Austria has said that Sanader does not believe that there are conditions for his fair trial in Croatia.
