The two officials voiced satisfaction with good political
relations and with the fact that bilateral trade had doubled in the
past year.
There is, however, still significant and unused potential for the
development of cooperation in economy and other areas.
Mesic stressed the importance of the countries' mutual interests in
many infrastructure areas, especially in transport and energy
connections, says the press release.
Croatia and Rumania not only share goals, but also a vision of a
united Europe. Therefore, cooperation and exchange of experience
are exceptionally important, Mesic and Nastase agreed.
During the talks, Nastase endorsed Croatia's efforts to join Euro-
Atlantic associations.
