ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Party of Rights/Croatian
Christian Democratic Union (HSP/HKDU) party bench on Tuesday
called on the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) to be consistent in its
request for the annulment of a tender for the sale of the Suncani
Hvar hotel company. #L#
"If the tender is not annulled and Suncani Hvar is sold to
Slovenia's Terme Catez, we suggest that the HSS and the Social
Democrats (SDP) explain to the residents of Hvar why the hotel was
sold to a foreign buyer," HSP member Tonic Tadic told reporters in
parliament.
He accused the ruling coalition of having failed to change the
existing law on privatisation and abandon the HDZ's model of
privatisation.
Urging the HSS to be consistent in its demand for the rescinding of
the decision on the sale of the hotel company, Tadic said the
annulment the tender had to result in the break-up of the coalition
and an early election.
He also called on the SDP and HSS to "put an end to the Suncani Hvar
tragedy" in the next two weeks and determine the company's owner.
"If the owner of Suncani Hvar is not determined in the next 15 days,
the company will not be able to prepare adequately for the tourist
season," Tadic said.
