liaison officer during the time of the former Yugoslav army's (JNA) attacks on Dubrovnik.
ZAGREB/THE HAGUE (Hina) - The Slobodan Milosevic trial before the
U.N. war crimes tribunal at The Hague resumed on Tuesday with the
testimony of Ivo Simunovic who was a Croatian Army liaison officer
during the time of the former Yugoslav army's (JNA) attacks on
Dubrovnik. #L#
Simunovic, who described the JNA attacks on Dubrovnik in 1991 in
detail, said that the aggression was directed against the civil
population.
During the cross-examination, Milosevic attempted to suggest that
Croatian forces had provoked the conflicts by firing shots at JNA
members.
Simunovic should end his testimony on Wednesday after the tribunal
granted additional time to the indictee to cross-examine the
witness.
