Talks will continue next week.
Participants in today's two-and-half-hour meeting agreed that the
privatisation of the company and investments into its development
were necessary to avoid stagnation and ruin.
The government must make an economically rational decision
benefiting the company's employees and local population, the press
release said.
The course of events so far and foot-dragging in making a decision
has harmed the company, but also tourism in Croatia.
According to unofficial sources, the Croatian Privatisation Fund
has not backed down from its recommendation that the 62.3 percent of
the company be sold to Slovenia's Terme Catez.
The sources also said that the company's management and union
representatives want the company to be sold integrally, while local
officials advocate splitting the company up and selling it in
pieces.
The heads of five parties of the ruling coalition will in the course
of the day discuss the Suncani Hvar issue, government portfolio
management and today's strike in primary schools.
