The committee's head, Branka Balic, said the committee and the ZPH
insisted that the factory's owner, the Croatian Privatisation
Fund, provide at least minimal severance pays for 2,320 pre-war
employees, who have been non-assigned since 1991.
"We demand the same rights as enjoyed by employees in other state-
owned companies," Balic said.
Before the war Borovo had as many as 23,000 workers. The factory,
which after the war has managed to restart some segments of
production, now employs around 1,300 workers.
