According to the message, God "has never abandoned this world of
ours, no matter how sinful and possessed it is by injustice and
deadly fears of huge disasters, war and ecological ones".
The dignitary in particular addressed "brethren and children in the
crucified Kosovo and Metohija," wishing them "to endure great
temptations they are exposed to".
He also recalls that there are hundred thousand displaced people
and refugees, not only in Kosovo and Metohija, but throughout the
world, who are still waiting for the "fraternal help".
The Christmas message ends with the traditional greeting on this
occasion.
The Serb Orthodox faithful, who celebrate Christmas on 7 January
according to the Julian calendar, gathered in churches in Zagreb,
Osijek, Vukovar, Rijeka and other Croatian towns to mark the
biggest Christian holiday.
