experience to work towards alleviating the negative effects of
globalisation and social disintegration. #L#
Drnovsek said his strategic activity in the future would mostly
focus on the all-pervasive effects of globalisation as the biggest
contemporary challenge.
"Globalisation has spread to world politics and economy but is also
entering our homes and mutual relations. We don't want its negative
aspects to affect us too much, which is why we have to respond to its
challenges actively and cautiously. It is the only way we can be
able to control some of globalisation's more unpleasant effects and
avoid some of the ruptures it causes in society. And when such
negative consequences do occur, one of the chief concerns of the
state authority is to mitigate them. A pronounced sensitivity to
social setbacks and problems should become the main characteristic
of the Slovene state," Drnovsek said in his message.
