The purpose of the protest was to urge more transparent engagement
of local and international institutions in bids aimed at shedding
more light on what had happened to at least 3,500 Kosovans who went
missing during the conflict in the area three and a half years ago.
The committee's honorary president, Adem Demaqi, who spent New
Year's eve with the protesters said no information on missing
persons was available to the committee.
The Kosovo parliament's head, Nexhat Daci, said the information on
missing people should be sought in Serbia, and promised to the
mothers that the Kosovo assembly would do all it could to help
clarify the destiny of the missing people.
