Simeunovic was arrested by local police following an order issued by the public prosecutor in Brcko District and approval given by the Hague war crimes tribunal. The arrest took about half an hour and was completed by 1 p.m.
The police and the public prosecutor's office refused to identify the person arrested, saying that they were still looking for another person accused of committing a string of serious crimes.
The person arrested was identified as Konstantin Simeunovic by people living in Brcko's Prnjavor neighbourhood where the police operation took place.
Simeunovic is charged with war crimes committed against Croats and Muslims in the Luka camp in Brcko during the 1990s war.
