The Christmas message was presented by the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bosnia, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, and Bosnian Metropolitan Nikolaj, who said that the message was a continuation of the good cooperation of the two churches.
The message says that Catholic and Orthodox bishops cannot but care about justice for all citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"Those who have un-Christian and godless thoughts about any other man cannot be considered true Christians and believers," reads the message.
The two dignitaries called on local and international officials in the country to do their utmost to build the foundations of hope and future for Bosnia.
Puljic and Nikolaj confirmed that they would continue cooperating as well as cooperate with the Islamic and Jewish communities in the country.
Whether these communities will cooperate within the Interreligious Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina is still uncertain because both the Orthodox and the Catholic church have suspended their membership in the Council.
Puljic reiterated that the Catholic Church did not want the Council to be manipulated by political parties or international officials but it wanted the body to operate on the basis of agreement and common interests of religious communities.
Metropolitan Nikolaj said the Serb Orthodox Church was not participating in the work of the Interreligious Council because it protested against the failure of the Islamic and Jewish communities to condemn an operation by Stabilisation Force troops in Pale outside Sarajevo in April this year, when a Serb Orthodox priest was injured in an attempt to arrest war crimes suspects.
